The stamping on the underside of the rim reads: LFII HBH 1939 HBH stands for Harrison Bros & Howson of Sheffield England who produced helmets between 1938 1940. The paint appears to be 100% original. This is an excellent condition, complete, original, WW2, painted steel 'Tommy' helmet. It has it's original black oil cloth
